Efforts to Address Extremism

National Security Presidential Memorandum-7
In September 2025 President Trump issued NSPM-7 directing federal agencies to investigate domestic terrorism including by examining organizations connected to those activities, including nonprofits entities.
Nonprofit terror ties
In March 2026 a House Ways & Means Committee investigation led to Islamic Relief USA cutting ties with Islamic Relief Worldwide as the Committee alleged the organization was linked to Hamas.
Whistleblower alert
In April 2026 the IRS issued a Whistleblower Alert, calling on the public to report misuse of federal funds by tax-exempt organizations.
